In the catalogue of the exhibition that was to be devoted to him from 15 February to 30 March 1988 at the Bibliothèque municipale Livrée Ceccano (where the Magnificat was to be exhibited) in Avignon, Eugène Guillevic would write the following lines:

With Le Yaouanc, I have seen gearings of terms turn and strike like pistons and cycles of stars and cities, Magnificat, I have seen a new figuration come plumb with the night, divide radiance from shadow along a taut line, I have seen colours turn like a clock in an infinitely precise mechanism and faces articulate each expression with their new muscles, and invent others...
