History

This lithograph was used for the poster of the permanent exhibition of lithographs at the gallery La Pierre d’Angle, rue Quicampoix, Paris, from 27 February 1975. Louis Aragon refers to it directly in his text Pierre sur pierre, devoted to the lithographs of Alain Le Yaouanc (translation by Simon Watson Taylor):

(...) Followed by the year 1972, with twelve lithographs, perhaps the strangest of all those in this album which defies comment, despite the impression I may be giving of commenting upon it at this moment. In this respect, indeed, I feel a bit like, the space-coloured cat outlined there against a perfectly black sky (or background) and seeking to touch with its paw a motif (or motet) that is a blend of target and snail... At the very fringe of order and disorder. Locate the relevant image, to understand me.
